Jalo Sport

Jalo Sport is a robust and sporty wristwatch. The design language of this watch was inspired by the Leijona watches of the 1960s that had a dial that was more easily legible, and a case that had a bulkier appearance for its time. Sport is made for an active person who wants a watch that always performs and looks great.

Leijona Jalo Sport has the proud look of a workman’s tool, but it is an elegant and sporty wristwatch. The design language of the watch comes from the Leijona watch styles of the 1960s.

Jalo Sport is as its role model, Jalo Perkko, one of the three founding brothers of the company and its beloved CEO. Jalo was a straightforward man and a bold leader in his actions.

Shape from a silhouette

Designing the case

Modern with a nod to the style of the past, Leijona Jalo Sport has case with a shape that was inspired by the multi-dimensional silhouette of the Val-de-Travers valley.

The case, that is made by Voutilainen & Cattin SA, has been finished with a strong but slightly refined angle. As a finish, the brushing has a tool-like feel, which reflects the attitude of the watch. The polished side of the case creates fine reflections with the light and a classic contrast with the brushing.

For a Sport model, stainless steel is the obvious choice for the case. It can easily withstand the wear and tear of life. The polishing of the case directs the user's gaze to the watch dial that's elegantly simple but has a lot to say.

Hybrid materials

The Jalo Sport models have been designed with sportsmanship in mind, which is why a highly wear-resistant leather-rubber hybrid was chosen as the material for the strap. This hybrid combines the look of a leather strap with the sporty properties of rubber straps against water and the other elements. The rubber also feels comfortable on your wrist from season to season.

Sellita SW200

Automatic movement

The automatic movement is a Swiss Sellita SW200, known as a faithful "work horse". When fully charged, the movement has a power reserve of about 38 hours. The time can be adjusted to the nearest second, as the second hand also stops when the crown is pulled out.

For the ones, who value time.

Voutilainen x Leijona

"When I do things that are important to me, time becomes meaningless. I don't count the hours. The value of time is the moment it stands in, and for me, that value is immeasurable. At that moment, time is completely in my own hands and I use it exactly as I see fit.

Using a watch only to measure the hours is a very linear way of thinking about time. Personally, I see the watch as a reminder that time is limited and that I should spend it on things that are important to me. Time is my personal property and I invest it exactly as I feel right."

The Voutilainen x Leijona partnership encourages you to seize the moment, be present in the moment and enjoy life's small pleasures and achievements.
